Internet. Without internet I wouldn't be able to publish this post I'm working on. Today in class we were shown a video of how internet works, and with also the help of info on the internet this is what I came up with on how the internet works. IP. So the first thing we should learn about is IP addresses. An IP address is how your computer is identified. It is the way messages know where they need to travel and where they are coming from. These computers are linked with your router which brings us to cables and wifi. Lets say you want to send someone "Hi my name is Shivek". This information changes into bits or binary information from your computer and heads through cables and wifi to your router. When we reach the router, all of these bundles of information, named packets, get transferred through wires wherever they need to go. When the information reaches its destination which is the router the computer is linked with, the router then sends the information to the computer and the bits are turned back to letters on your computer. This all happens at fast speeds which benefit us because who wants to do anything slow?
Now what I am writing down here is going to go to do the same process I just talked about but with where ever the servers for Weebly are. In a split second I could publish this without errors due to how advanced we have become with the internet and to keep it as reliable as possible. It's amazing how it works and to think how so many steps can be done within the flash of an eye. Thanks to Khan Academy with the great videos!
